Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit : Perfect for Training

Nike has kicked off the summer season with the 2015 Nike Free Collection which are designed to move with the body by allowing multi-directional movement. Now, Nike brings to the spotlight the Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit, the Women’s Training shoe of the collection.

When training, we do an incredible range of movements and routines. We would jump, sprint, weight-lift, stair-climb, plank, push-up and burpee in the gym, we require training shoes that allow for dynamic, natural movement while also supporting our feet during these vigorous and varied workout activities.

The design of this training shoe is based on the six core moves of we do during training: pull, push, lunge, squat, bend, and rotate. The sole features hexagonal flex grooves that flex and follow the movement of the foot, while rubber pods give added traction and stability for common training moves.

According to Nike Women’s Training Footwear Design Director Nicole Mueller,  “The Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit is a very holistic system. The shoe’s design is based on how athletes move naturally, and Nike Flyknit allows for comfort and flexibility while being very light and strong with a sock-like fit. We added cushioning and traction underfoot, and support in the upper only where needed. The parts of the shoe work together to deliver multidirectional natural motion.”

What’s good to know is this training shoe has been gym-tested by the best in the world!

Training of Katarina Johnson-Thompson, an English track and field athlete, who is also a heptathlete (training for seven different track and field events) involves an understandably large number of exercises and routines. On any given training day, she may sprint hills, repeat box jumps, power through circuit training and, of course, do a little running. The 2015 European Indoor Championships gold medalist also engages in regular strength and rehabilitation exercises to keep her feet and ankles strong and healthy.  The Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit helps Johnson-Thompson meet her goals and work toward her next competition.

“It feels great to train in the Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit, whether I’m doing a full-body workout or focusing on my core,” says Johnson-Thompson. “The shoe is lightweight, it molds to my foot when I lace it up, and it looks great. It helps me move naturally no matter what training drill I’m working on.”
