The Saucony Kinvara 5 is a light weight neutral running shoe. Kinvara is a longtime favorite of runners from Saucony’s racing line. This high-performing trainer won the Best Update and Runner’s World Editor’s Choice awards.

LIKES

Cushioning.

I enjoyed the cushioning while running in this shoe. The PowerGrid delivers a smoother and bouncy ride. The outsole got a little extra rubber for increased durability

Snug, Comfortable Fit.

The shoe has a mesh on its upper that embraces the foot and offers a snug fit and provides greater flexibility.  This has been redesigned from the previous generations. A more durable mesh has been added in the forefoot, while a softer, more padded fabric now lines the collar.

Lightweight.

The shoes is lightweight. It’s great for speed and tempo runs.

Seamless feel.

Due to the FlexFilm, there is less internal stitches so it’s soft and the inside is almost a seamless surface. Can be used if you want to run sockless as no stitching will be felt against the foot.

DISLIKES

Not Water Resistant, Not Waterproof.

While the upper mesh feels so comfortable, is not water resistant and can become problematic when running under an unpredictable weather condition.
