Oxford Tree Read at Home Book Review

Read at Home is designed for young readers. The vocabulary repetition and gradual progression within each level help build confidence while providing entertaining stories and funny illustrations with real life and fantasy adventures.

Oxford Tree Read at Home Book Collection
The series we love to read has 5 levels and has a gradual progression, from book A to book C.

Level 1: Getting Ready to Read  is for children who can recognize their own name, can match some words and can recognize some letter sounds

Level 2: Starting to Read, for children who can recognize a few words by sight, can use pictures to read simple sentences, know some initial letter sounds.

Level 3: Becoming a Reader is for children who can recognize 10-20 words by sight, can read simple sentences and know all the initial letter sounds

Level 4: Building Confidence in Reading – those children who can recognize 30-50 words by sight, can read harder sentences, with less support, and can use sounds to help make words.

Level 5: Reading with Confidence os for children who can recognize more than 75 words by sight, can read ahead to check meaning and can read silently to themselves

Read at Home by the Oxford University Press books are one of our favorites. Gab knows the characters and loves re-reading the stories about Chip, Kipper, Biff, and Floppy. We are amaze that at age 3 he can read level 5b on his own!

More books to go!

There are also hidden items, puzzles or activities in every book which Gab finds exciting. These offers lots of opportunities to talk and practice their reading skills. The book also provides practical tips and simple ideas for parents when reading and talking about the story.

We want to get the whole series, composed of 30 books but they’re only available, in a good deal in Amazon. Plus it’s in London, not in US,  so we don’t have an affordable and practical way to ship the books in the Philippines.

Read at Home Books is published by the Oxford University Press. The books, paper back and hardbound, are available in some bookstores here in Manila. We have five books now and we plan to keep adding to the collection and hopefully we can complete the set. That’s why we always look forward to book sales!
