Usable Sugar-free Lollipops

We wanted to give out something useful instead of the usual goodie bags containing candies, sweets, small toys and stickers so I made these towel lollipops as giveaway for Gab’s second birthday. These sugar-free swirls are easy and fun to make.

Towel Lollipops

Here’s the step by step instructions on how to make towel lollipops.

Materials

Colorful or plain small towels
Paper straws
Clear tape
Cellophane
Ribbons

1. Lay the towel on a table and fold it in half into a triangle. You can use a wash cloth or face cloth. I used plain purple and blue micro fleece face towel.
2. Roll the towel upwards starting from the wide side of the triangle.
3. Roll the towel tightly from one end form the round lollipop shape. Secure it in place with a piece of clear tape.
4. Tape a colorful paper straw, using clear tapes, to one side of the roll. You may also use a wooden or popsicle stick for the handle.
5. Wrap the roll with cellophane and close it with a ribbon forming a simple bow tie in front.

You can place a personalized sticker at the back of the lollipop towel. For our lollies, we printed out a thank you tag with Gab’s photo on it. We gave this out together with the colorful mallows in triangular containers.
