Hands on Manila’s Good Deeds Day 2019

Good Deeds Day’s started in Israel in 2007. It is a day of celebrating kindness from different countries around the world.

In 2018, 3.5 million people from 100 countries, rendering a total of seven million hours of service. Together with several volunteers last year, I joined the clean up of Freedom Island, a DENR protected site, a sanctuary of some migratory birds.

Autumn feels in the midst of the mangroves! . Keep doing good because it’s the right thing. Thank you DENR, Hands On Manila and the local community for keeping this critical habitat protected. Special shout to the many volunteers who spent hours, days, weeks, months, and years cleaning up the island. . Freedom Island is the last remaining wetland of mangroves in Metro Manila that serves as a bird sanctuary. This island also serves as a natural border from strong winds and waves during monsoons and typhoons. . đź“· by @glacymacabale #hom #handsonmanila #HandsOnManilaGoodDeedsDay #behandson #bethechange #gooddeeds #gooddeedsday #volunteer #nature #naturephotography #freedomisland #manila #philippines

Last Sunday, April 7, 2019, Hands on Manila once again celebrated Good Deeds Day, with abandoned and often abused children from different orphanages. The kids, paired with volunteers had fun in a carnival-themed event, complete with food, fun games, and entertainment.

This year, a little volunteer tagged along with me and he enjoyed it!
