Fun with ELC Big City Play Mat

When we moved into our unit last year, Gab has a space for his play area. Hubby made him his parking areas, using a blue duct tape, where he can park and organize his collection of vehicles without occupying all the space we have in the living room.

I cant find a nice picture of our DIY parking area but this  is the pinterest image that we made use as reference. We used 3M duct tapes instead of washi tapes as they leave no trace and on walls or floors.

This year, it was time to make some adjustments. We need to provide a study area, without his toys distracting him when we are doing his worksheets. Plus, those duct tapes, after a year on our floor, needed to be cleaned and replaced.

After checking toy stores for possible replacement, like a puzzle mat, my husband saw this Early Learning Centre (ELC) mat.

Early Learning Centre Big City Play Mat Review

Here’s what we love about the ELC Big City Play Mat:

1. Colorful play mat which is just the perfect size. It does not occupy a very big space and is just perfect for a small play area. It measures 25 x 26.2 cm.

2. Easy wipe clean and store. All you need is a wet cloth to clean dirt from its surface.  Compare to the previous DIY duct tape this is easy to remove and stow away when we need the space.  And we can easy put it back.

3. Perfect for kids who are vehicle lovers. It feature roads, pedestrian lanes, and familiar buildings like a hospital, hotel, fire station, police station, supermarket and even has a construction site.

I only wish it were rather thicker and the material under the mat to be non-slip. To make sure that Gab will not slide when stepping or playing on the mat, we placed it on top of rubber puzzle mats.

It is fun to explore the roads with this ELC Big City Play Mat. This play mat is perfect for imaginative play.

Early Learning Centre Big City Play Mat is available at Early Learning Centre stores in Greenbelt 5 and in BGC for Php 849.
