Kamillosan Spray for Sore & Itchy Throat

Around the start of the summer months this year, Gab woke up to coughing and a very itchy throat. It was the first time that he experienced it so he was feeling so uneasy that he did not know what to do. It resulted to some fussy and crying moments.

Aside from the home remedies we have for sore and itchy throat (which I will write on a separate post), after a consultation, our pedia recommended Kamillosan M Spray.

Chamomile is now my best buddy for sore throat relief!

Kamillosan M Spray is made from chamomile extract, which is believed to have anti-inflammatory property, and essential oil like extract, with anti-bacterial effects, such as peppermint, sage, anise, dwarf pine-needle, bergamot and cineol.

The minty taste is not too strong for toddlers. This is a good alternative to antibacterial mouthwash or lozenges. Mouthwash is not advisable to younger kids as they tend to swallow the mouth rinse instead of spitting it out. While lozenges might do the trick, it is not advisable for those not used to eating candies, like Gab, or for those who are very young as it poses a risk of choking.

This mouth spray can be used by the whole family. We have this remedy on hand in times when we need relief from sore and itchy throat. We also make sure to bring this when we travel.

Kamillosan spray is available in leading pharmacies nation wide and can be brought over the counter.

This blog post is based on personal opinions and ideas based on first-hand experience. It should not take the place of an actual visit for a consultation with your physician.
